About us
We’re Emma and Jack, and in 2016 we gave up London jobs, moved north, and began patiently restoring four dilapidated stone cottages on the edge of the North York Moors. Eight years, three children, and more paint than we can count later, Moors Edge Cottage is the business we always dreamed of running.
Each property is ours personally — we clean them, stock them, meet guests, and fix the leaky taps. That means every detail is considered: the mattresses are real, the kettle actually works, the WiFi is genuinely fast, and the welcome hamper is made from things we’d happily eat ourselves.
What we believe
A good holiday let isn’t just a building — it’s the small thoughtful moments. A lit wood burner on a cold arrival. A sleep-worthy bed. A proper coffee machine. Honest local advice on where to eat and walk. We try to get these things right, because we know how precious a week off can be.
Sustainability
All our cottages run on 100% renewable electricity. We compost, recycle, use eco cleaning products, and source amenities from local suppliers where we can. We’re also Yorkshire Dales & Moors Tourism Partnership members and donate 1% of every booking to moorland conservation.
