The 14 Major Allergens
Celery
Including celery salt, found in some soups, sauces, and spice blends.
Cereals containing gluten
Wheat, rye, barley, and oats. Found in bread, naan, some sauces, and batter.
Crustaceans
Prawns, crab, lobster, and crayfish. Found in some curries and starters.
Eggs
Found in cakes, some sauces, mayonnaise, and some naan breads.
Fish
Found in some sauces (such as Worcestershire sauce) and fish dishes.
Lupin
A legume sometimes found in flour and baked goods.
Milk
Found in butter, ghee, cream, cheese, yoghurt, and many sauces and desserts.
Molluscs
Mussels, squid, and octopus. Found in some seafood dishes.
Mustard
Including mustard seeds and powder. Found in some sauces, marinades, and spice mixes.
Nuts
Almonds, cashews, pistachios, and other tree nuts. Used in many Indian dishes, desserts, and garnishes.
Peanuts
Found in some sauces, desserts, and groundnut oil.
Sesame
Sesame seeds and oil. Used in some breads, garnishes, and sauces.
Soya
Found in soy sauce, tofu, and some processed ingredients.
Sulphur dioxide (sulphites)
Found in some dried fruits, wine, and preserved ingredients.
